Will she ever get better?

Oh dear, that puts an awful lot of pressure on you to be there all the time. It is so hard when you leave someone else in charge and they inadvertantly undo all your good work. I know what you mean about feeling 102 and sympathise! Although of course I am nearer that age anyway...

Lol! But I can't stand having cold feet!! I ache so much that I am wrapped up in a scarf and bodywarmer trying to keep warm here in my office trying to write my thesis, gah I feel miserable!

I am lucky that I have a couple of really good friends that helped out and take no nonsense from her. But there are some people on the yard that are a little too soft with her. I think she also likes to punish me when I have been away

She was good as gold today though, but was made to stop every 2 strides all the way to the field and stand in the gateway when I opened it and then again halfway through and then again when on the other side - I think she got the message!!

Not much consolation but is she the pretty black girl? Apart from the white socks she could be my chap and the odd quirky behaviour fits as well. Years ago somebody told me to avoid chestnut mare and black geldings, maybe it applies to black horses in general!
 
It can take ages and every now and then they can still suprise you.

Chancer was starting to go through the bolshy stage and I think I got to him in time. I still most days make him back up to remind him that I am boss and never let him get away with pulling or barging if I can help it.

So much easier to stop it happening than to cure it later.

Keep going you are doing a fantastic job and eventually it may be the rare occasion or she may end up never doing it again.
 
Yes thats her in my signature. She is very pretty and affectionate, but every now and then she just loses her head - doesn't get silly just rude. They do say black horses are nappy, but she isn't so bad and again she used to be a lot worse!
