Will she turn white immediately?

I have recently bought a foal to have at weaning, however I am curious on what colour she will go next. The breeders told me she will go dapple grey however it looks like she will turn white immediately. My colour genetics has never been my strong point! 5339BB4B-10F8-4223-AD5F-D6ECF646A558.jpeg

She does look quite pale already for her age but it is a bit of a 'wait and see' game with greys. For example both my grey and her sire were born chestnut. My girl was pretty much completely white furred at two years old and never had any dapples (she's now fleabitten), her sire however was dark dapple grey at the same time despite being older.

I don't know is the short answer, but I bred from my first pony who was dapple grey at age 5. Her daughter was born chestnut, but turned roan and eventually grey. In old age she was slightly flea bitten. She didn't go through a proper dappled phase at all.

What breed is she? My neighbour breeds Welsh b ponies and they can be white by 4/5 years old. Dales ponies are born very dark, and can still be dappled 8/9/10 before turning full grey white

I’d suggest she will lighten initially but winter coat will come through dark grey with possible dapples in next years summer coat

What is her sire like, you might find pictures of him at different ages to see how he changed as he aged. I presume the bay is her dam.

As I mentioned my girl and her sire here they are -

The photo of mine is from 2011 ish *I think she's three there* but essentially you can see that her sire is older (unsurprisingly ;)) but he is dappled while she is not and never was.
