Hello guys

My new OH really wants to have a go at riding - and I wondered if it would be ok to let him have an amble about on my pony (just a one off)? And I mean a five minute walk around a big school which is huge so no tight horrid corners and maybe a few strides of trot? If he likes it obviously he would be riding bigger horses.

Anyways drum is 13.3 welsh D X cob and built like a little tank - my OH is 5ft 8 and weighs 12st 10 - he is super sporty and has very good balance.

what do you think - I know she is capable of carrying a heap of weight but just wanted thoughts? xx

Thanks

They will be both perfectly fine and it is nice to hear about another OH who may take up riding

Good luck to you all

Aww thanks - he cant wait - and Im shocked as he is very much into his sunday league football etc .....

He has met her already and was suprised that she was so friendly - he thought horses didnt have personalities - ha ha

He is very excited and has also really helped by asking all his daft mates to be super careful when driving past horses as they are actually nice animals - bless him. xx

They'll be fine. My OH sometimes pops on Murphy and charges about like a loony and does little jumps...and he has no balance whatsoever

They have loads of fun together, Murphy gets a real glint in his eye when OH gets on board...

I think he should ride bareback so pony doesn't have the extra weight of a saddle.................nothing what-so-ever to do with added comedy value!!!!!
