I was going to ride this morning but there was still a storm about. No if there any storms about tonight I won't be riding but I am pathetic with thunder and lightening.
I'm hoping it holds off - supposed to be going back for a second viewing on a horse! Don't mind trying him in the rain but thunder & lightning may be pushing it
I'm a bit annoyed as I usually ride right after my night shift but this morning I was tired I could hardly see straight so just went home instead. And just this minute the thunder has started and the sky looks scary .... Wish I hadn't put my riding off now, just hope it clears so I can ride tonight after I've had a sleep.
Might ride in the school so I can go back quickly if it gets too stormy but just had to cancel a dressage lesson as I didn't fancy travelling a young horse in a metal trailer with lightning! Feel a bit pathetic now though as its quite nice at the moment... :/
Well there was still thunder rumbling around this morning but the clouds are clearing off now...so will ride if they go away completely!
Went out in drizzle for a hack once, got halfway up the road and it started hammering down so hard it sounded like gunfire off the metal roof of a barn we were going past and thunder rumbled above so we turned the horses around (we had literally just left, still in sight of the yard!) and trotted back!
Yes, probably unless the rain reaches monsoon standard and then it won't be fun.
However, we've been caught out in thunder and lightening quite a few times, miles from home. Each time, the horses have been absolute stars, when the rain was too heavy to see a straight line, the horses have got their heads down and trotted purposefully to take us home.
But if I suggested starting out in it, they'd think I was nuts.
I wont be riding tonight but then he has already been ridden by his sharer this morning so I can stay dry and safe, lol
Storm just hit Heathrow, its been brewing noisily for the last half hour but the rain started a few minutes ago but its easing off already!
Bring on the rain, our fields are desperate for it. Stay safe everyone
