Sorry if some of you find this boring but so many people wished him well last year I try to keep putting pics of his progress up on the blog . I really feel all the good wishes and vibes helped him through, no matter how daft that sounds..
He's growing like a weed, plays a lot and eats very well.
He has regular blood tests to ensure there is no long term damage , and they have been good.
His only real bad thing is he can be iffy to catch if he thinks there's anything remotely vet happening, and we have to keep a headcollar on in the field. In the pics he has a nylon one but he does also have a leather one which my husband doesn't use for some reason, I think I may take to hiding the nylon one in future!
He is still in every night and will soon outgrow his rug by the looks of him.

WOW! What a beautiful place to live. Your horses all look so happy you are so lucky. I'm really jealous. You sound as though you are so happy when I read each picture blog.

All the horses look well and relaxed

Ah, i'm so glad William is doing so well, he is such a little star.

I'm sure he won't mind having new rugs

But flowerlady it's just like everyone else, I get problems, bad days and run out of money!
The views however do make my life bearable even at it's worst, I never tire of looking at them and they change daily.
The biggest drawback if I'm honest is the amount of maintanance a place this size needs, the fences fall down, the roofs all need repairing (just done 100 feet of barn roof and about to start on the house..)
Don't ask me about the old stables, the windows will have to be all replaced and the tarmac on the yard is crumbling too.
The barn roof corner has been ripped off at least eight times and my husband gets very frustrated always being asked if he can just mend stuff..
So although it looks great it's no different to anyone else, just on a bigger scale.

Awww, bless!

I always look forward to William posts, and I'm sure that if he goes on to a competitive career, many of us HHOers will follow him around the circuit

HH,it is so nice to see William looking and acting like a 'proper' yearling. I never get bored by your posts, and often just like looking at the pictures of your landscape. I understand what you mean, when you talk about the maintenance, we came from living in a 2 bedroom 1980s built Wimpy house to our current home which is circa 1890. It is a constant surprise to my husband, that on top of all the DIY on the house, the horses actually break things, and hanging baskets and planters around the stable yard look lovely until somebody escapes and trashes them!! And yet this man is now looking to buy a old dairy farm or pig unit to convert to stables!!! Ooooh if only he would listen!
I hope this year is a good one for all of you and look forward to more William (and Chocolate) updates.

Never boring. I have just spent a lovely while looking at your photos and reading your blog. It's brilliant to read that William is progressing so well, and just lovely to see your other horses and your wonderful surroundings.
