My cob gelding has always been fairly clean around his boy parts (and prior to owning him I've always ridden mares!). However when I went up this afternoon I could see a huge lump of gunk visible on the end of his willy - once he'd finished his dinner I investigated further and oh my goodness, yuck. Thick black and brown-y gunk all over everything. Having never seen this before I'm slightly at a loss for what to do - can I just clean it with warm water? Thankfully he is very laid back about this kind of thing. And should I be worried? Why would he suddenly be so mucky when he hasn't been before? It all looks perfectly normal other than the gunk - no lumps or dodgy looking skin.
