wimpy pony! 18deg qnd shivering!

Won't she be a bit wet in a fleece if it rains?!

Mine had a hunter clip last week and he's now in a 75g with full neck. Debating putting a bigger rug on though as he doesn't hold weight v well when he's cold...

It's not raining, don't worry! ;-) Mileaminute is at the yard currently and monitoring, and I will be up in an hour.

Mine are still naked, but I am holding off clipping for as long as I possibly can. The 22 year old I look after does have a LW on, but he is a cushings sufferer, and not got much of a coat.

Moomin, if you find just the fleece all buckled up like when you put it on your horse, you might find your horse melted away underneath it..
Sparklepony, I was told, that rugging up early was meant to stop your horse from growing a proper think winter coat, that's untrue as far as I know, they just flatten the fur against their bodies instead. The last time my horse stood shaking like you described on the first post in this thread, my horse was seriously ill with a temp of 105f and the trembling was him feeling totally rubbish :(

Promise he isn't ill just a wimp!
He schooled amazingly this morning, after the rodeo as a loose shavings bag attacked him, he is feeling good, looking good and fresh, just how he should be.
Thank you for your concern though, if it was bob (my cob) I would of worried but not him!

I am having to tie my hands behind my back to stop myself rugging my 3 year old! Despite it being bitterly windy and raining!

She is out with two very playful four year olds (none of them have never had a rug on in their lives) who will rip the rug off her back as soon as see it, but I keep telling myself she doesn't need it - her coat is coming through quite thick and I don't really want to clip her this winter as she won't be doing much at all until Spring.
