ahhh im having a night mare with one of my investments! one of my TB's (typical) has very bad hooves! every time she goes out she ha sa TB's style gallop around and a freak out time so she very often comes in with a cast shoe! thats getting better now as iv got her on pro hoof which is excellent and it also gives coat shine:):)
however, she gets on and off wind galls and splints on her fetlocks and cannons! I there any supplment or tips any of you have, or have experianced?? please reply, im sure there are some typical TB's owners out there lol:)

Not sure of any supplements for such things but have a good selection in your first aid box such as ice packs, cooling wraps or bandages and arnica and aloe vera gels to put on injuries.

I struggle to put regular cooling gels on my horse has he is more than likely to have an allergic reaction unless a completely natural product.

And if anyone can come up with a solution to stop thoroughbreds from leaping about all day out in the field I'd be really interested. Nothing, including sedation has worked with mine yet. Unfortunately its just his temperament so I have to put up with the fact that he is likely to injure himself.

Just a quickie question...are cooling gels or arnica gels good to use on windgalls? My boys gets them every now & then.

The best thing you can use for windgalls and splints is pure distilled MSM. The distilled type is the best. Aloe Vera is good for such things but this is because the active ingredient in Aloe Vera is MSM! The cheapest place for pure distilled MSM is www.equineanswers.co.uk.
