Look what i found in my welshy colts mane today..........a wind plait! and a perfect one at that - does that mean that the gypsies are going to steal the little bugger? :p

The little wretch kept moving/blowing in the wind so its the best pic i could get of it, its a perfect plait with 3 strands and everything and even has a little knot in the end :p
He is very exposed where he is turned out up on a hill in windy conditions :D

I imagine lots of horse-owners think the gypsies are after their horses in these windy conditions!

There's a warning on a local horsey site telling us all peoples' horses have been "marked" for stealing.... :D

All my three suffer with wind plaits so I always spray with baby oil, and put in a loose ruining plait this also helps when they roll the mud doesn't seem to stick as much.:)

A year or so ago the BHS investigated this issue thoroughly and it was found to be complete nonsense. It's just the weather and horses sticking their noses into tight places or horsing around in the field.
