Was supposed to have a lesson today but the gusts of wind were so strong I was beginning to think of cancelling, I didn't fancy towing the trailer across the open forest! Decision made a few minutes later when a tree in one of the small fields came down, just missing my youngest son.

I hope everyone else is safe and well.

Glad your son is ok. He had a lucky escape. We woke to snow this morning and have just had a violent hail storm. The fields are sodden, so the horses had a few hours out before coming back in.

I put mine out today but dreading trying to lead them both back in with winds of 49 mph. One is a youngster as well 😬

Gosh! Glad your son is ok. We rode this morning, manage to avoid the rain and snow shower that followed and it was actually sunny, then we hit the open bit on the way back and omg the wind was horrendous, it wasnt like that when we set off otherwise I wouldnt have gone. Amazed that the horses, both 4 yr olds werent bothered in the slightest! Got home and then it started hailing, the weather seems to have gone crazy!!

I was fed up yesterday as I had a polework clinic booked and paid for, but in the morning the gusts were too big so we didn't go. It was wild. However, I did have a play with clicker training with her, she learned to turn her had away.

This morning at 7.30am it was not too windy so I had a ride in the drizzle. She was ace, so that was well worthwhile. Today in clicker training she learned to touch a flag. I am so glad that I did as it is now too windy to ride (for me these days anyway).

The rest of today I have spent trawling the internet for a used dressage saddle, but because I am specific in what I want it is proving troublesome. I think we have tried 6 so far - paying for trials is proving expensive!

I wouldn’t have fancied towing a trailer today that’s for sure.

Did hack out but can’t say it was much fun!

Gawd, scary!
I met a fallen tree on my way to work and on my way home (different trees!) took me forever!
We moved the lorry to park across the front of my stables to try and protect them from the wind as they are the wooden sort that tend to take off. I said then I wouldn’t want to be driving the box on the road with horses on board so don’t blame you for pulling out at all!

We had a massive oak tree come down in one of our fields. Fortunately the horses were stabled from that paddock. Must have made quite some noise! I opted to go for a run, instead.

Glad your son is safe.
We had some branches down in the drive, just missing the cars, and a tree down across a fence line in one of the paddocks.
Just walked the dogs on the Forest and practically got blown off my feet!

We've brought ours in for the first time this Winter season to give them a break from the wind and hail. Friend's mini and OH horse happy in or out and even my Uber tough Fell settled straight away. Forecast for Tuesday/Wednesday looking dire.

Blimey, I’m glad miniPF wasn’t hit! 🌪😨 It’s bonkers here, no fun going up the M1 to the feed shop. I was going to get put on the new bike but given I could barely keep the car straight, I didn’t fancy my chances on a bike!

It's grim - and forecast to be here for a while. No way I'd have towed today, but hacked a few out - which was unpleasant enough!

Wind here today was horrendous - but we didn't have the snow that poor peeps up north had. I was certainly a fair weather rider today although am dying to try my new to me saddle out - but didn't think it was a great day to do that today!

Just as I was bringing the girls in, a mad hail storm started, accompanied by 50mph winds which whipped through the caravans and terrified the life out of the girls. Needless to say I ended up losing them and they turned and flew back in the direction of the field, last the gate and onto the track. Fortunately they stuck their heads down to eat so I was able to grab them. Got them back to the yard, incident free and then the weather got even worse. The sound of the hail on the barn roof was awful- the girls were terrified, shouting and spinning.
I can’t remember ever feeling so fed up, I don’t know what’s wrong with me at the moment.

I think my electric fencing is in the next county. Soaked to the skin trying to gather it up - then it snowed so I gave up.

@scats with you on the fed up. I'm hoping it's winter blues

And it doesn't look to be stopping for next week either - am with you all on the fed up - just been out with OH putting haylage out for some of our many ewes who start lambing next weekend - am hoping this week will be the end of the bad weather - don't want another year for lambing like last year - it was just horrible and such hard work

Tuesday is looking pretty wet so the ponies will probably have another duvet day. This evening we had snow, hail, sunshine and rainbows all within 45 minutes. It might be grim at the moment but we have had a pretty good winter so far and the evenings are getting much lighter so there is a lot to look forward to.

My 2 and especially my 2yr old were amazing to bring in. 50 mph winds, driving rain, 200 yard walk through an open field to the yard. Tbh I was half preparing to let him go if he kicked off but he was amazing 😉
No respite tho as will have to do it all again tomorrow, looks to be very windy again 😬
Already retrieved my electric fencing from somewhere it shouldn’t have been

Went to check my two in beautiful sunshine and just as I got close we had a massive hailstorm. My daughters pony had eaten his way into the middle of a patch of willow trees and created himself a little "den", he gave me a look of "don't you dare try and get me out into that" when he saw me. As usual my cob was apparently oblivious to the weather so I left them to it.

Met my neighbor on the way home and he was NOT happy, apparently this weather is not suiting the newborn lambs and his barn is now full.

That said I can't complain too much as the field the horses are currently in is usually knee deep in water at this time of the year.

I did venture out in it but it was forecast to miss me and it wasn’t too bad. Did feel it a bit on the A1 and I wouldn’t have taken a trailer but the little lorry was fine. Thankfully the day was pretty good, no rain snow or hail. I took a full change of clothes but didn’t need them, phew.

Luckily I was out at a rally on Saturday, bit windy but not too bad. Given weather had here all week, typical I've got a week of work. I've got decorating to do but would rather be out riding.

I'm sick to the back teeth with it too. Everything takes 5 times longer, it's impossible to put a rug on, buckets keep blowing away and I've nearly lost my fingers several times when the wind has caught a door. AND when I entered this weeks dressage comp, winds were forecast to be mid teens. As soon as I entered and paid, suddenly now we've got 27mph winds on Thurs !!! You're having a laugh !?!?
