If a horse has minor windgalls would it be better to boot up for support or not?

Thanks in advance

from my understanding windgalls are more as a result from concussion on hard surfaces so I'm not sure boots would make any difference.

windgalls are a distention of the synovial sheath between either the suspensory ligament and cannon bone or the long pastern and the ligament joining the sesamoids.

its caused by overstress of the limb by concussion or incorrect angulation of the joint of the foot and pastern.

to be honest once they are there they are there boots arnt going to make much difference.

my mare has windgalls.
I find in the winter they almost disappear if she wears stable boots at night. Exercise helps and i support them with wraps which helps a little.
I find they get really bad in the warmer weather, or whether it is because of the hard ground.
You can never get rid of them but you can prevent them before you get them or help them not be so swollen when you do have them.

My mare has massive windgalls behind, which developed before I bought her. I SJ her in front tendon boots, can get the hind boots over her windgalls so don't bother. Just put sports medicine boots on for support when xc-ing her!
