Windgalls in competition horses

The good the bad an the ugly, has your competition horse got a windgall, is your competition horse prone to windalls, what treatment is used if any, bandaging etc when excersising, all information gratefully recieved.

my 14 yeqr old grade A has got windgalls in all four legs worse on one of the hinds but can't remember which one. got them in germany as a baby, came to england as an 8 year old as far as i know never had any lameness from them and doesn't have any treatment at all

my 19yo showjumper has windgalls n his near hind...never bothered him...i do absolutley nothing to them

leave them alone as they havenever caused any bother xx

Jayson has big ones behind and smaller ones in front, I do nothing to them and they cause him no problems - they are all ways right down in the morning after I have had him bandaged from eventing.

Thanks guys, it would appear that the ginge has had one appear on one of his hinds (offside I think) after quite a performance in the school.

No heat, no obvious lameness.

Do I carry on working him as usual, to include jumping, do I invest in a set of exersise bandages?

If he's sound then I'd just leave him be.

My mare has them on both back legs and we don't treat them at all, or manage her any differently because of them.

Antifaz has pretty massive windgalls. He's 100% sound, so I leave them alone. They do go down a bit when he's had a break.

My boy (8 year old irish TB) has had windgally back legs pretty much since I got him as a 5 year old. He's been wearing magnetic wraps for the past 6 months or so and I reckon they make a difference. If he's jumped on the hard or done a three day show I usually cool gel and bandage but to be honest he's never had any problems with them!

obviously they alone would not do a great deal but surely the exra (albeit) minimal support that bandages offer would be greater than that provided by normal brushing boots.
i am also looking at the bioflow magnet boots to aid circulation.

whilst i know WHAT windgalls are, ive never had to deal with them myself so i guess its just one of those things where it helps to hear as many diff experences as poss so i can weigh up what i want to do for my horse.
