Now windgalls I am used to, but normally behind! My mare has them in front, they came on when the ground got hard at the beginning of the summer, and haven't gone down. They are like half a marble on either side of her front fetlocks, just above the joint and between the cannon bone and the tendon. They are never hot, and go down after fast work, but other than that are pretty consistant!

She has never been over jumped, or worked at speed on hard ground. She did however used to hoon around her field when the ground was like concrete, which probably didn't help!

Has anyone come across this before? I am kind of thinking about getting her legs thoroughly checked over by the vet, but being as she has never been lame, or shown any heat etc, that I may just be overreacting.

Has anyone found bandaging helps?

Any suggestions very much appreciated :D

Baileys gets them all round over the summer, a combination of eventing and field hooning I think! They have nearly gone now that ground is much softer and his work reduced. He has never taken a lame step and they do disappear if he is bandaged for any reason. I don't really worry about them at all tbh.

My old mare had them in front and they sound just like you are describing. They were just there and caused no probs. If the ground was hard and she had a hoon around the field then they would fill a little more and feel warm, other than that nothing. Gave them a cold hose when they did that - I think more so I felt like I was doing something! Never seemed to trouble her and never a lame day in her (long!) life, so I wouldn't worry too much tbh.
