Should i be worried? My girl is 6yrs old and has small windgalls on her back legs that only really show up if she has been stood in.

I had the vet out to ber a couple of weeks ago (for an unrelated reason) and she commented on my mare having windgalls at her age.

I don't think she has been 'hammered' to the ground before i got her, and i only do intro eventing on her at the moment.

Can anybody tell me whether they will be a problem as i hopefully go up the levels eventing.

I think they are relatively common.

A friend of mine bought a 4 year old, who'd only been backed for 6 weeks and he'd got small windgalls - probably from haring round the field. My just turned 5 year old dressage horse has also got small windgalls - but he came from Germany and was probably worked hard at a young age.

I don't think they cause pain or effect performance.

My 5 yr old mare gets them when she's in over night, my vet said that as long as they go down once she goes out, then not to worry about them as apparently they're quite common.
