Ouch! £40! Thanks for that but I am on my own and public transport doesnt appeal on a Friday/Sat that late at night! If I go by train it sounds as though Ill need to change onto a bus - then it will presumably come in at T5 - my hotel is on the east of Heathrow and the shuttle buses will have finished according to the blurb I have - it gets worse.

Maybe Ill find someone to share the taxi with me. Anyone out there????

I've come back on the last train from Waterloo last week actually and it wasn't a problem - felt quite safe tbh! Taxi from Feltham?

I understand completely where you're coming from though

I will be there helping on & off in the BD Pavillion with the BDSC from the Tuesday to the Saturday night

Have booked in hotel in Maidenhead with OH.

Finally got a taxi booked £30 a night. Still a cheap three days though (excluding the ticket prices!)I suppose. Flight £99 and £9 a night for the T lodge hotel!

I didnt really understand the Pavillion prices . I might look and see when I arrive!

I'm going to the grand prix special on Thursday - does anyone know if Edward Gal and Totilas are doing this? Couldn't find a list of entries anywhere...

I'm so excited I'm going on the sunday for the final of the individual jumping, and going to be completley in awe of all the greats that will be competing. I bought my tickets last year and have been waiting for sooooo long !!!!!!

Bit cheeky now, has anyone received a special offer code, to get cheaper tickets or is every offer code different?
Just thought it'd save some money on buying the tickets, thats all.

Im going on thursday

Just one more work day before I head off on Monday!!! Am sat here clock watching big time.

Ok, am bringing camera so will take requests for photos from warmup/competition (mainly dressage but hope to get some SJ too if time allows). On my list are Totilas and Balagur, and Alf of course. Let me know if you want any particular horse or rider and I'll try to get them! I promise a huge photo report when I get back!!!!

Katy and I are now there Saturday evening, just booked tickets, I will go straight from MK ODE and back to MK after. Kt went today and loved it, spoke to Edward Gal and had her photo taken.
She very oddly bumped into the Australian owner of a Paralympic horse, that we met in 2004, hes there as a reporter... so I will see him on Saturday too, soooooooo excited just got to get thro 50 PN horses first then return to do 50 Intro on Sunday.... quite a contrast...

Hi,
Random question but does anyone know what the ground conditions are like outside the main arena - is the shopping area and food place on hard standing as I am flying down for the weekend and trying to keep my baggage light weight so I can fill it up with shopping and don't know whether to bring more substantial shoes?
Thanks

Lots of grass around stands, but good plastitrack in between the stands and along the avenues. It hoolied down weds at times, but ground was good and I had very un-sensible footwear on (don't ask!) and didn't suffer.

Went last night (Wednesday show jumping) very empty stands and total lack of atmosphere for a major championship. Hopefully will get fuller as week goes on (we have weekend tickets as well). Were thankful for the Swedish supporters sitting behind us who at least worked up some noise and enthusiasm. Also have only just found out that Britain took team silver in the dressage - the only mention of the dressage last night was who won. Anyone going - go and have a look at the Italian horsebox prototype on display next to the Whittaker and Lehel trade stands. Very happy chatty salesman showing us all round lorry despite having already told him it would cost more than our house and that we weren't in the market for one (sadly).
