hello, my horse already has a wintec gp which fits him well but I was thinking about getting a dressage saddle as well.

My lower leg has a habit of moving forward, will the wntec pro help with this? Also if the gp fits should the dressage the same?

thanks

I have the Wintec 500 (for sale BTW

) and I really really like it, just a shame it no longer fits my horse. I've heard bad things about the Pro though.......seat too shallow and does not help the leg position?!?!

The Pro is shallower and less "holding" than the Isabell. The 500 is exactly the same as the Pro, just with an "equileather" seat instead of an "equisuede" one. I find I move about much more on the 500 types than the Pro types. I like the Isabell more though, it really does hold you in position. If you don't like being held, go for the Pro/500 and buy the huge knee blocks.
The dressage ones will fit differently to the GPs as obviously they are built differently, but as a rule if you can get one Wintec to fit your horse properly, the rest should fit to a degree and the flock ones should be able to be adjusted enough to get one to fit

wintec pro is an ok saddle - but...

in terms of leg position, it won't help you - it is very neutral - you can either sit well in it, or you can sit badly - it won't do much in the way of helping you out.

I used to like mine, but have ridden in lots of other dressage saddles which are much more beneficial in terms of improving a riders position.

The wintec isabell is a much better design for improving the position.

ETA: wintec pro is a million times nicer than the 500 though - the equi-suede is quite a nice surface to ride on - quite sticky and soft, unlike the 500 which is like riding on a slippery plank of wood in comparison!

The Wintec Isabell is great for position, I really did find it helpful after struggling with GPs for years. Sadly doesn't fit my horse anymore though. Its a 17" black, not doing much at the moment.

imo the wintec dressage is not much of a dressage saddle at all , as said before it doesn't 'sit' you , if you want a dressage saddle my advice would be to save up towards more of a 'proper' dressage saddle

The wintec 500 and 2000 (or Pro) saddles are the GP saddles with dressage flaps stuck on, hence people finding them not particularly 'dressage like'. The Isabella werth saddle is soooo much better - it's pretty much impossible to fall out off and really forces you to sit properly. Some people like that - I just felt a bit trapped
