Buying a jumping saddle, but need something for dressage and flatwork. I've been riding in an Isabell which I think is really nice, but, I have not ridden in any other dressage saddles!

Not got a lot of money to spend on it, so even though 'the cheaper the better', it still needs to work for (and fit!) me and my horse.

The only difference (other than price!) seems that the Pro and 500 are very similar, whereas the Isabell has a much deeper seat- am I right?

We really want to do eventing, but will be doing quite a bit of dressage as well, probably up to BD novice/elementary.

Thanks! :)

Why don't you try them all? Either go to a shop and try them or get a saddler out that stocks them. I qwent to a shop and tried LOADS (including all the above). I actually found to sit in all of the Wintecs felt the same. The only one I really liked was the Bates Isabell. Not sure about u but when spending that sort of money I want it to feel different!

If you are planning to buy new, then the revised versions are much better build than the previous models. They dont make the isobel anymore, but the top model is now a plastic fantastic version of the bates innova.

def isabell
yes worth trying them all ,i got my isabell second hand for 350
there are still second hand ones around
my friend had a 500 and i rode in it ,it was horrible
it might have just been me but i think if you have been spoilt with an isabell you prob won't like the others

I have the isabell - i tried quite a few but having ridden in friends isabell saddles it wins hands down.
It is the most comfy saddle and really puts your leg its place - i have 4 saddles and that one is the least expensive of all 4 and by far my favourite.
