wintec elastic girth...washable?

are the elastic wintec girths machine washable?
it doesnt say on the label, but mine smells so bad, and wiping off with a damp sponge may get the grease off, but doesnt remove the smell!

just wondered whether i could stick it in a machine at a low temp? thanks

I put mine in, but I don't put soap powder in - someone told me it rots the inner bit and makes the vinyl bit hard.
