I have a bates ap saddle but would quite like dressage saddle for my rising 5 gelding

I'd love another expensive saddle but in reality that isn't going to happen. So wondered what everyone thinks of the saddle in the title?

I don't plan on doing any high level dressage, so just the odd local show and for schooling

Also how do you estimate the girth size required? He's a 50 inch with his standard saddle

Ive looked at these as I love doing flatwork in a Dressage saddle, and I used to ride a friends horse in one. They're really nice for the price, and you can get nice enough ones second hand on eBay. (£2-300)
They seem to sell well, and hold their value better than the other wintec dressage saddles.

I've got a couple and really like them (I've also got Amerigo, Equipe, Barry Swain, Albion and Ideal which I also like). I much prefer the Isabell to the regular Wintec dressage saddle. Good luck in finding an Wintec Isabell Werth at £200 (they are pushing £1000 new these days)

My friend competes her Advanced dressage horse in her Wintec Isabell Werth

Lovely thanks for the fees back

Can't afford a new one at this point in time but I have seen a well looked after 2nd hand saddle for 320

Used one until my cob got too wide for it. Fantastic saddle, comfy and supportive, light and easy to clean, really good saddle. The newer ones are not as good as the older ones. If you horse is wide then you need to get an older model but not the earliest model as they have support bars inside which were later removed, which means they can not be flocked for the wider horse. (saddler said this too me because I had a mark one version) The saddle come in either a flocked or a cair version. When buying you might come across saddles which have had the cair removed and flock added. One I looked at was a horrid mix of the two. With this saddle you can go up to the white gullet, however some people think you can stuff the xxw one in. It will fit but it deforms the saddle. Just to add they come up quite big and the panels underneath are quite long so for example I am normally comfortable in a 17" saddle but in this saddle I was happy in a 16.5 and if you have a short coupled horse you might have to watch the length of the saddle,
