What does anyone think of it? I am considering purchasing one, have started doing a bit more dressage now and doing lots more movements like half pass, flying changes and medium trots but finding it all even harder in my x country saddle and thought this might help. its slightly cheaper option than a leather but is it just a good? any info much appreciated, thank u. also do u go for cair or just flock?
 
I find these saddles odd ... they seem to fit some horses much better than others, I had one for my TB and quite liked it however it was awful on my WBxTB

I think they are much more suitable for lower level dressage, they literally force you into one position which isn't actually as good as it may first appear!

If you go for one go for regular flocking rather than cair, easier to alter the balance if needed.
 
You could also consider the Wintec Pro dressage, very similar but a slightly flatter seat and freedom of movenent for the rider. Remember you can always change the width of a Wintec in front, but they will always be a medium fit saddle behind
 
Try the wintec pro, similar spec and looks identical but has a flatter seat and the stirrup bars aren't as far back, you're not as stuck in as with the isabella, I love mine used it on my vetran TB and changed the gullet to fit my young WB before he got his new saddle, plus its cheaper!!!!
 
yes i have just been looking at the wintec pro dressage and it is much cheaper, do u think better i now cant decide? Decisions decisions!! I want something that is going to the job for a while but a starting point to.

the Pro dressage is fine for lower levels of dressage (or even higher levels), because it is not so extreme you will still feel secure and ride with a properly placed thigh and lower leg. The Isabell is a fabulous saddle, but the position is more fixed and extreme..fine if you are established as a dressage rider and are already working in that kind of position..for anybody else it could be restrictive and force you to a position that your muscles have not adapted to
 
If I were you I'd try and have a sit in both the Isabell and the Pro. I love my Pro (bought it so I could do some tiny jumps occasionally as well as dressage, as the Isabell is just too deep to jump in) but I wish now that I had an Isabell! I love the Isabells, I like the feeling of being secured into the saddle and don't find it at all restrictive. My Pro makes me work harder to find my own seat, which is good from an "improving your riding" perspective, but it doesn't help that I had to get a 17.5" so my Mum could use it as well, when I really need a 16.5"! It's personal choice really between the two, but if money is an issue and seeing as you've been schooling in a jump saddle anyway I don't think you'd have a problem with a Pro.
All that is, of course, as long as the saddle fits the horse!
 
I have got the Isabella (flocked) and I love it. I also have a Thorowgood Richard Davison and love that aswell. Sorry not much help!!!
 
we have an isabelle for our youngster as the pro didnt fit him and it is harder to do the higher level movements in it !

I would personally go for the Pro over the isabelle but it does depend what fits yoru horse !!
