Hi all

I am thinking about getting a wintec isabelle saddle for my horse but before I do, I was hoping for your opinions

what are they like to hack out in? is it a really restrictive dressage seat?

I'm a size 14 - do you think a 17.5" would be suitable for me?

thanks in advance.

Only rode in one once and hated it, felt very wedged in... But everyone is different.. You need to ride in one yourself. How long are you in the leg from hip to knee? .This needs to be taken into account when you are considering seat length

I liked it but it gave me a sore you know what. Hacking in it was murder. I did it once and never rode in the thing again and sold it! Never had that with any other saddle.

Ha I have one and hack in it and can totally agree with FWinnie!!!

I don't find it too restrictive though, but I probably could do with a 16.5 rather than the 17 inch seat so that could be why.

I love mine! Previously I had the Wintec dressage but I found it really uncomfortable. I uprgaded to the Isabelle and haven't looked back. Its currently my only saddle so I hack in it too and get on fine with it. I have a 17" and am a size 10 and it's not restrictive at all.

Really like the Wintec Isabell. I'm 5'8" and a size 10/12 and am quite long hip to knee. I was more comfortable in an 18" seat.

I hack out in it with no problem.

I love it - but mine maybe for sale shortly 😞😞 will know more Monday - pm me if you'd like more info

I think it's the best cheap option you can buy esp when you want changeable gullet. It does put you in a nice secure position and is fairly comfy even for hacking. If you have a budget of over £600 there are better options.

Love mine! Had it years. Dressage, hacking and broken in a fair few in it.

No sore foo foo just sit on those seat bones!

I have a 16.5 and am 5'4 and a 10/12 butt that has no trouble fitting in it!

Best try one of you can, I'd say 80% of friends that have ridden in it have loved it and the others felt to held in.

I have a 17" one and love it, I had had the Wintec Dressage before but the Isabelle is so much nicer. I can confirm that hacking long distances in it will lead to soreness in the lady garden region, so I rarely hack out in it.

i loved mine but i have to say i never really hacked in it. It does lock you in position, so i can imagine trying to hack would be uncomfortable

Love mine, I have the Newer version, and the Cair is far superior to the old version, more like WOW's Flair. I also hack in mine with no problems. I would just say to try one before you buy.

Very square through the seat which I find v uncomfortable and feel miles away from the horse

I have a wow which is much blockier than the wintec Isabelle so I didn't find it kept me in position as such....

I love mine! Previously I had the Wintec dressage but I found it really uncomfortable. I uprgaded to the Isabelle and haven't looked back. Its currently my only saddle so I hack in it too and get on fine with it. I have a 17" and am a size 10 and it's not restrictive at all.

This, my sister even jumped in it :D I did all my fast work in one when it was my only saddle.

HATE HATE HATE! With a passion (incase you couldn't guess ;) ). Incredibly restrictive and uncomfortable. Horse hated it as well.

I am tall (just under 6ft) and none of the Wintec saddles work for me. I am not sure what it is about them but I always find myself fighting the saddle (DR or jumping) to sit in the right position.

I have one for both of my horses and love it. I only hack and find it really comfortable. I am a size 14 and have a 17.5 inch for one horse and an 18 inch for my big girl - she finds the bigger saddle more comfortable whereas I prefer the smaller one for me!

Lots of endurance people in Oz ride 40-80-160kms in them.. Which is quite a lot of hacking!
I personally hate it, but then my endurance saddle is a Barefoot Cheyenne which gives you about as much room to move a sit is possible to get!
They seem to be saddles that you either love or hate: no in between.
