I'm not sure if it is the "new style" or not, but I bought my wintec 2000 six years ago, and it's OK.
I have the one with cair (not flocked), and this has held up perfectly, no lumps or bumps appearing.
The stirrup bars are quite forward, so can be a bit of a hindrance if you are more into dressage, but for a general purpose (some schooling, some low level jumping, hacking etc) it's fine
For longer hacks (anything more than three hours) I use a memory foam seat saver, but even without it is more comfortable than most leather saddles I've sat in.
I do however, have a true dressage saddle for "proper" dressage schooling
