Looking at buying one of these new as I can't find a leather one for the same price used!

Can anyone that has/had/ridden in one please comment you're opinions, thanks :)

The old style or the newer one with pimple underside to the panels?
Old style is a rubbish fit on anything not TB-y. Tree's too curved at wider gullets sizes and panels far too sloped at the back so the outside edge digs in. But the front panel doesn't have enough lift for anything with TB hollows. They also come up very long for shorter back, Cair is hard and non-bedding and the stirrupbars too far forward.

The newer style is much better. Tree's a better fit, panels are wider and flatter, there's shims avaliable to alter balance and lift. The only issue I've seen is the gullet width(space between the panels) at the front is too narrow for wide spined horses.

But just because the gullet angle can be adjusted does NOT mean they fit all or even most horses.

Is that the same as the wintec pro jump? I rode in one once, quite liked it... it was really comfy, and basically like a synthetic stubben - held you in in all the right places. Cant comment on how it fitted the horse
