Hi all,

I am looking at buying a Wintec dressage saddle for my new horse and I have seen the Wintec Pro model with Isabell Werth written on the side. From research this appears to be the old Wintec Pro model which was around before the Isabel Werth version came out (apparently they used to put the Isabel there as she rode in it).

I was just wondering if anyone knows when they stopped making this saddle e.g. when did the first Isabel Werth saddle come out?

Also has anyone ridden in this - I'd love any opinions! Is it better/worse/the same as the newer pros which don't have Isabel on the side?

Who knew Wintec saddle shopping could be so complicated!!

Cookies for anyone who's got to the end xx

I have had my Wintec Isobel for about 8 years and love it... it puts you in a great position and is very comfortable - not sure if it the same model as you are describing though:/

Thanks for the replys.

The model is the one that says both Wintec Pro and Isabell Werth on it  Most say one or the other and not both!!

Hopefully that will have worked!

I have ridden in the Isobell wintec pro and found it very comfortable for me and the horse. It doesn't have the very deep seat like the newer isobells have but I found this better as it didn't hold you too ridgid in the seat as the newer isobell can be quite restrictive if your using your seat for riding aids.

I borrowed it from a friend for a good few months till my horse outgrew it and as it wasn't the adjustable one I couldn't change the gullet.

The tree shape was much flatter than the other wintecs and fitted my lad nicely. It was the 18" and usually I can't fit anything bigger than 17" as my boy is short coupled. I found this just to the maximum he could take before over 18th rib so not overly long in the panel for the 18" seat. I loved riding in it but couldn't find any for sale in bigger fitting and finally went treeless anyway :)

Thanks, that's really useful. I've got a high withered horse and I think from what you're saying this won't fit as well as the newer Isabells (which I've tried and were great) maybe back to the drawing board on this one :(
