on saturday i was cleaning my tack because i was at a show on sunday. And i was cleaning my saddle, which is a wintec GP to lift up the saddle flap and notice on both sides tears in it. GGRRRRR!!!! i have only had it a year and a half. any one had this experience, also i keep it in a safe, dry, and its is weekly cleaned, an a saddle cover on it . I am going to invest in a new one now a quality one, preferably a leather one any recommendations.

I have a Isabel Werth leather dressage saddle who is made by Bates (ie the people who make Wintec's) and I am not very please with how the saddle is wearing. Despite being cleaned every week, the girth straps are cracking and the leather on the seat and knee rolls is going green! I suppose I have used it fairly heavily over the last couple of years, but for £1,200 you would expect it to wear a bit better than that!

I prefer to buy a good quality, top brand, second hand saddle - although they may look like they have been worn in, they seem to wear much better and they are far cheaper than new ones.
