I'm thinking of getting a wintec Isabell but want to know which people think is better, cair or flock?

I have heard that cair is quite hard. Does anyone know whether you can get the flocking adjusted in a synthetic saddle? Or indeed in the cair version?

Cair was recommended to me as it contains air which does not matt (unlike flock) and cause pressure points.

You can get flocking adjusted.

I had a Cair saddle and my horse hated it - he has a very sensitive back. It is a lot harder than flock, but I know some horses go well in it so I think it's down to the individual.

Have both but my horse is much happier in the Cair saddle. He is very sensitive in the back so I also always use a sheepskin half pad between him and the saddle.

Other horse does not seem to notice the difference but then he is a "dumb blood".

I have one of each - I have a Wintec 2000 with cair, and a wintec isabell with flock.

Out of the 2 my mare much prefers the isabell with flock (although it may just be that she secretly prefers being a dressage diva

If I was buying again I would stick with flock in all honesty. Looking at both saddles side by side, I much prefer the feel of the flock on the isabelle compared to the 2000. The cair panels feel very hard and unforgiving, whereas the flock feel much more like they have give in them (if that makes sense!!)

I would go with flock, if I was being honest as I prefer the sublety of being able to adjust the flocking - however is you want an black 18" isabella with cair then I have one for sale!!!

Yes my friend has a flocked one and has it checked/flocked without a problem.

These saddles are ideal for horses that are finer and have withers. These are not suitable to fit flat backed horses with no withers (personl experience)

When i was looking for one, ebay had some very cheap ones x x

Finer type with high withers describes my mare perfectly so hopefully the isabell will fit her. I keep looking on ebay so hopefully will find one soon. I think as you can re-flock them I'll go with flock.

thanks all of you for your replies.
