I have a wintec adjustable saddle that I bought for my youngster, a GP one, it looks smart and has been altered 3 times in gullet to fit her as she's grown.
I really like it, dont think it would be up to county level showing but I've been to lots of local shows in it and never once has anyone commented on it. It looks good and is nice to ride in, its a GP one.
I've got a jumping saddle and, while it is not the most comfortable or glamorous, it fits my boy well and he's competed all over the country in it, jumping 1.10 / 1.20 with his previous owner.
It is pretty sturdy and robust and, for the price, a really decent buy.
Just get a seat saver if you're planning any really long hacks, lol!!
I event my horse in a wintec jump - i find it fairly comfy and he goes nicely in it, so i am reluctant to change it!
And my other horse has a wintec isabell dressage saddle which is fab - really comfy and puts you in perfect position!
I had a wintec for a few years, was marvellous for my ex racer while he was muscling up and changing shape, plus they are affordable too. Had been using it on D but since he's now pretty much the shape he's going to be plus the bad back that he recently had i got him fitted for a new bates saddle (was always the plan to get him a nice leather saddle). I wouldnt rule out another one if i ever had another youngster, one thats changing shape, or one that has a habit of trashing them.
If you find one of them fits you and your horse, why not. They are NOT a miracle cure for fitting any horse.
FWIW I have hated every Thorowgood I've sat in. I own two Wintecs (have owned three and ridden in countless).
