Ok so here it goes... Basically I've had enough of jumping in a dressage saddle! It puts me in completely the wrong position and because of that I can't fold enough so now when I jump I keep catching poor Ted in the mouth. :( Because of this I have started looking into buying a jumping saddle, I've seen a Wintec 500 Jump saddle that I like the look of however was wondering what people's opinions are? Also please feel free to recommend other saddles to me please! Just bear in mind i'm on a tight budget ;)

Personally I don't like wintecs. I like the Thorowgoods, also the Kent and masters and Saddle company jump and event saddles are good but not too expensive. All are also adjustable and can be found on eBay for not too dear... :)

Wintecs are cheap, that is the single good point.
The bad points;
They do not fit the majority of UK horses.
They throw your seat forward in the saddle.
'Fitting' is tenuous- gullet system does not take into account the general narrowness of the tree, and saddle in general.
My advice- seek out a saddle fitter to sell you a second hand jumping saddle fitted to your horse-it will cost much less in the long term.

I have a Bates Caprilli CC for jumping and LOVE it! Havnt done much in it yet because my boys young but when I was out competing I used to rude in an Albion k2 which are brilliant for bigger horses but anything under about 15.3hh not so good as theyre so forward cut, they can start to interfere with shoulder movement. Kent and masters are very good if you can fit it to your horse but a lot of people have trouble with them, they don't fit many horses. Equipe are the new thing these days, lots of ammeter showjumpers using them with great success. Hope you find one suitable :)
