I'm starting to research saddles to try for my rising 4 yr old who will be backed in the spring. Am I right in thinking that the older style wintec wide (with the four girth straps) has been replaced by the wintec 500 wide?

I've got a black older style wintec wide for another cob I own and I've just been on the wintec website but the only wide saddle they mention in their products is the 500 type one.

There is a brand new wintec wide older style on ebay for £299 and I'm thinking now it may be that cheap because there is a new style out. Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Cheers.

Hiya

I was looking at these saddles a while back, and you're right, the 500 is the only one they do in the wide! I didn't like the look of that saddle so ended up with the bates ap saddle! and after all I didn't need the wide so I have the standard bates ap, which I do love but only looked at it because I didn't like the 500 haha! I really wanted the 2000 but never mind, I have a stunning saddle!

my boy is going to be back next year too, so at least I have a nice saddle that can be adjusted to fit him as he changes shape!

Thanks for that, I thought I was being dim and missing something. It also explains the very good price on eBay for a brand new older style one....which I prefer.
