Ok, i know they are not the best- but out of the choices what ones are best?

I find the GP (500) is too forward cut and shoulder restricting.

Anyone else love or hate theres? Im debating getting the VSD or just opting for leather?

LOVE my CC Wintec

Really want a wintec pro dressage saddle if I can find one in brown !!
Not keen on the 500 though

Hate! I put up with a wintec CC for nearly a year and finally gave in and bought an Ideal, couldnt go back

Plus had the wintec pro dressage and have to say really didnt rate it, more of a vsd type saddle than a dressage saddle IMO

Very restricting, don't seem to really fit very many horses properly and I found it tipped me back slightly. Utter crap IMO. Better to buy a decent 2nd hand leather saddle.

Hate

Love them, they are great for youngsters that are finding their shape. I've had a 2000 and borrowed a vsd when all my tack was stolen.

The vsd is great for larger sizes or natives and I found it really comfortable and fitted Ralph really well.

If your on a tight budget or have a horse that is changing shape , I'd go for the wintec vsd

I don't like our wintec, had it for 5 years and my mum bought n has since forgotten what type it is so I have no idea, but it doesn't fit me properly as I have long thighs for my size... I just find it uncomfortable. I rode a friends horse in a gorgeous expensive dressage saddle, not sure what make but I know it cost her 1 1/2 grand second hand, and it was heaven compared to mine

They have their place IMO with horses that are changing shape / youngsters.... But apart from that I HATE them. I don't think they fit well. I've been riding in one the last few months on a friends horse and had real problems with my positions, was really shoving my leg forward. Do not have a problem in any other saddle, horse now has diff saddle and no problem, so was defo the Wintec!

What I hate about the Wintecs is their marketing - they advertise them as a "fit-all" saddle which they are most definitely not. If you see them as any other saddle and get them fitted properly (qualified fitter etc.) then yes they can work for some people, and not others. Like any other make of saddle!! People expect too much of them, and by "people" I mean Wintec expect too much of their own saddles too. They were fairly unique in their day and I think they are top of the range of synthetics (I loathe Thorowgoods, as a brand, never sat in something more uncomfortable) but they have lost their USP now and are dwindling in popularity.
I have a 2000 GP which fits my horse like a dream. My saddler said he'd rarely seen a saddle fit a horse so naturally as the 2000 does on my horse. I also find the 2000s very comfortable. I had a 500 GP on my first loan pony and it was one of the most awful things I had sat on... it probably didn't help that I was too young and naieve at the time to have had it fitted properly - I had been taken in by Wintec's marketing and thought they didn't need fitting like a "normal saddle"

I also have a Pro dressage saddle, and as madhector said that style (the Pro and the 500 dressage ones) are more forward cut than is really needed for a dressage saddle, which was exactly what I needed at the time. Although I like my Pro I would be happy to replace it as I need a deeper, straighter saddle now.
I've ridden in countless Isabells and I LOVE them; although many people dislike the way they "hold" you I like the feeling of security. I once made the mistake of jumping a tiny log in an Isabell, horse cat leapt said log, I ended up with the muscles on the fronts of my legs almost being ripped because I got caught by the knee blocks! Isabells tend to be a personal choice thing.
Really you need to look at each individual saddle as just that, individual saddles. If they fit you and the horse, great. If not, don't discount all the other saddles in that brand. I have sat in a few Ideals and LOVED them but I bet one day I will find one Ideal I don't like.
Sorry, rambled on a bit!

It depends on the type, I like the close contact and the Isobel for the fit on the horse because the panels are flatter, but the position for the rider on the isobel was too extreme for me. For myself I liked the Pro dressage, but felt it was too narrow behind for most horses - even with CAIR it felt very hard.

I think they are great for growing young horses. When i have ridden in them i have found them very comfortable...but this is my opinion...everyone rides differently and likes different things.

I am getting a Saddler who only does Wintecs out to fit my horse one in the next week or so.

I have the 500 and it fits my lad well, I however find it quite hard and perchy but have gotten used to it. In an ideal world I would get something that is comfy for both me and him but until I have spare money it is important that it fits him more.

Hate - and never found a horse they would fit either! Love my ideal VSD and Albion Jumping and now have a Saddle company dressage on shape shifting youngster and the soft padding seems to allow for a lot of the minor changes in his shape. Not the prettiest saddle but for the money was a no brainer over the Wintec.
