I know I've not posted about him all that much on here (well apart from the post where you all told me to avoid CKCS with a ten foot pole that I clearly paid ALL the attention to ?) but here is the hooligan spaniel on his first visit to the beach. Overall he approves but he reckons the sea could do with being a few degrees warmer (spoiled little princes only have WARM baths!) especially when he realised that playing in the sea with other dogs tends to involve getting drenched. Recall is still a slight work in progress (training is ongoing) but he only played deaf once today (which is when he got drenched) & did some nice playing with another pair of young dogs of similar age & some nice polite greetings of other off lead dogs who came up to us (& then carried on walking with us afterwards which is one of things he sometimes struggles with... He seems to think he'd quite like to try out joining someone else's family sometimes!). Sadly although he seemed a little tired afterwards his sleep in the car recharged his batteries a little TOO well & this evening he's been industrially trying to destroy the Xmas tree protector & bringing me every stone in the blooming garden!

Gorgeous - I had CKC when i was in my teens, she had the lovely nature and was a very special friend.

Sadly, she was found to have a hole in her heart when 6 months old and we were told she'd probably not make 5, but she was 7 in the end. I got the call 3 days after I'd moved to Hertfordshire and drove home to take her to the vets for the last time (I was 21).

He's very cute but a little terror when he wants to be!

Really sorry to hear about your girl Blackrider ?. He's got health tested parents on both sides but obviously still no absolute guarantee that he won't end up on heart meds at some stage in his life.
