Winter boots-recommendations please!!

Well since we are now inundated with mud and my trusty wellies have died

I would like some nice warm waterproof boots that I can hose off and get on my horse still wearing, so have to be suitable for trudging through wet and also riding!! Suggestions please?

I wear Ariat Grassmere.

They are prehaps a little too nice to wear as wellies but I have done, been up to my knees and thick mud and the hosed them off ready to ride, I have had my current pair 3 years and the only prob I had is the laces 'rotting'.

I live in them day in day out at the yard - And are so snug and warm I have no need for extra socksin the winter!!

The Mudruckers are good. Keep your feet toastie warm and not nearly £200 like the Ariats!!!

Another vote for the Ariat Grasmere's. The best boots I have ever bought.

Toasty warm & dry feet. Feel like slippers to wear. You can ride in them & they also look v smart with jeans once the mud is hosed off.
Well worth the money imho.

If you haven't got Ariat Grasmere money then muck boots are fantastic value for money with the added bonus of being better fitted than wellies so you are less likely to lose one in the mud!

Dubarrys all the way! Mine have lasted almost 4 yrs now and are still water proof and look good after a clean.

Am just about to buy a new pair after xmas. I also hack in them but wouldnt jump/school. Mum has Ariat grasmeres and really likes them, they are meant for riding in id say but are fully waterproof too

Ariat Grassmeres love them to pieces, never had wet or cold feet since wearing them. Can trudge down the field, hose them off and hop on to ride.

Def the Ariats...they are like a pair of slippers, so comfy and warm. I know they are pushing the £200 mark but certainly worth it as they are so versatile!

What about the muck boots?? They do a pair you can ride in and although not got the riding ones myself I have the normal ones and my feet have never been more comfortable and warm - they have lasted me the last three years of daily wear in all winter elements!

I can definitely say DON'T do for the muck boot tynes (the riding version) I used mine for 3 months after christmas last year and they leak on every seam, they were brill for the first month - warm feet, waterproof (well up to the top of the rubber anyway) and then they were wrecked!!

Had a pair of the normal ones first and they have been fine but must be something to do with the shape of the boots on the riding version.

Customer service was rubbish as they wouldn not let me send them back directly and as they had been a gift i had no clue ehwre they had come from!!

now have to see how I can justify the grasmeres/dubarrys......

If you don't mind riding in wellys I recommend Le Chameau Vierzonord - cost about £100 - rode in mine last night no problem, they have a heel and are only a bit wider than my normal riding boots so shouldn't get stuck in the stirrup.
