Any recommendations for good warm winter boots? I had ariat Windermeres but they didn't last very long at all, I don't mind spending good money if they are going to last. I am dog walker too so would like some I will be comfortable in all day. In the past I had a pair of muck boot derwents which just lasted and lasted (until I walked through the sole, they were used that much) I have looked but there new range is very confusing!!!

I have the Muck Boot Chore and really rate them. Coming into their second winter with absolutely no signs of wear, apart from the usual dirt.

They keep your feet super-toasty with only one pair of socks. Very good grip - we have clay soil so gets very boggy and slippy in the winter, but I stayed upright!

The only drawback is that they are a little clunky/heavy and you can't ride in them (I change into proper boots to ride in anyway, so no bother for me). But they certainly stand up to the job.

Really love them.

I am oohing and ahhing about some dubarry ultima sailing boots - I am hoping they are more waterproof than normal horsey boots , as I am tired of wet and cold feet all winter !

If you're looking for a pair which are great for dog-walking too, I'd say go for the Ariat Grasmere boot - lovely and toasty in the winter, totally waterproof, very comfortable and easy to maintain. They are suitable for riding although I don't use mine for that.

I have some HKM Madrid boots with the winter membrane......cost about £70 and lasted all last winter, spring and this autumn with ridding, yard duties and dog walking. The do come up small by the ankle and calf but I found there the only winter boots that lasted for at least one winter. My dublins leaked after two months.

Have to get a new pair this month at the sole has a hole in from all the walking lol.
