What are the best breeches for wearing in cold winter weather?

Musto pull-on ones are very warm, but a bit slippery (they don't do a sticky-bum version), so not great on lively naughty horses. bentex normal ones are pretty thick so windproof, warm enough as long as my core is toasty warm already, and super-sticky. also, i've just ordered a pair of Pikeur Luganas with full-seat, which come in a winter weight fabric, and will report on here if they're warm! haven't tracked down any others yet, other than overtrousers (like fleece-lined chaps), which i'm not too keen on.

bentex are unbelievably sticky, a really great feeling on a naughty horse. some ducks shot out of the roadside ditch beside us the other day, quacking and flapping, and the mare shied quite sharply... i didn't even move in the saddle. just as i was thinking "ooh, i'm getting even more secure" another bit of my brain said "it's the new breeches"...!

I won a pair of Irideon breeches through H&H - I wouldn't have bought them myself by looking at them but they are the warmest I have ever worn. Lovely soft, fleecy lining and water repellant. Have worn them to many a feezing indoor comp and piddling down in a Scottish ODE and they wash a treat.

Definately recommend so don't be put off by their appearance. They come in dark colours aswell so ideal for yard work & hacking out.
