Winter Coat for Turnout Recommendations - my equidry broke after 1 season

Hoping to find a nice one in the sale before winter lines come in

Had an equidry last year was a dream until the zip popped dismounting, I think this is a known failure as the coat upon reflection comes with a tag saying be careful of the zip ( I always was!!) , and on the website says they don't cover the missing teeth failure and want £35-£55 to clean it before even fixing it ! So a bit pissed off about that and reluctant to waste money on another.

I have a lemieux long riding coat (amazing love it best coat ever) But I need something thats baggy enough and long enough (covers top of wellies) to throw over my work gear for morning turn out without getting a drop of mud on me.. I like the look of the alpine all elements lemieux one but begrudge spending another x amount for it to not do the job. Any recommendations? bonus points for a hi-vis one I can ride in but turn out needs the most important.

Any suggestions welcome!

I've got this one and it's been brilliant. I wear rydale waterproof trousers with it and always stay dry.
 
I have a Lands' End stadium coat and it's brilliant! Must be five or six years old now and is still holding up beautifully.
 
I love my Uhip. but it wasn't especially cheap. But it's long, warm, fitted and smart. And very waterproof. 2 years in and I expect it to last at least another 2, with usage for most of the rainy days and some colder dry days.
 
I'm forever in search of a genuinely waterproof (at least for a while) coat but they're all heavily padded and often not breathable, I don't know how everyone else isn't the sweaty mess I am.

Bought the lightweight weatherbeeta one last year, it is nicely breathable but leaked at the shoulders and the collar is so big it flies up in the wind and hits you in the face with a press-stud.

Anyway if you need properly waterproof then one with a cape will keep shoulder and arm seams dry which is usually where they leak. I have a long Jack Murphy which has stood up to all the weather.

My main coat is the shires summer calgary, its relatively waterproof, not too hot and a decent design.
 
I just brought one of the Hazy Blue changing robes the riding vers for a very reasonable price its lovely and warm but when the weather is muggy, hot and horrid I use a hiking poncho with sleeves that i brought from amazon. Now it looks like the attack of the bag woman when its on but i remain dry and that's all that matters.

How does it size please? Do you have to size up to get layers underneath? Thank you!
 
I hated the equidry, it was too heavy.

For rain I have a £25 3/4 length waterproof from our local country store.

If it’s dry I have an equisafety as I find them very warm.

Hi @starbucker do you still have your Equidry coat? If so, you could buy a replacement zip (double ended) from eBay etc, and take the jacket to a local seamstress / clothes repair shop to get the zip swapped. That's very poor imo for the zip to break, especially as they are expensive jackets to buy.
