What does everyone do during the winter months?

I've loved this summer ... being able to go to shows and do whatever I feel like on the day, and doing some dressage inbetween.

Think I'm going to get a bit bored with just SJ or dressage over the winter.

Urgh, yep, we'll be back to riding under floodlights before too long.

I usually do some dressage shows and this year I MUST get out to do some SJ as well, otherwise I always feel out of practice when the event season starts again.

It is a useful time to get lots of lessons in though, it's sometimes hard to fit them in during the summer but I made a bit of a breakthrough last winter as I was able to have lessons more frequently.

Do you have anywhere that does arena xc near you? Might be a bit more exciting!

Our riding club and local equestrian centre do dressage comps indoors over the winter, there is also indoor CR as well - just not as many as the summer.

I'm quite looking forward to the winter, because the RC dressage starts again, and it's very close. So the pony has 2x dressage/month on his menu, as well as some hunting, and I've got 1xSJ/month. Should be an active winter!
