I have been feeding a cupful in madams feed since April and her coat is certainly blooming. I noticed yesterday at the local tack shop that it was placed next to micronized linseed, same size packet, but the linseed was loads cheaper....literally half the price. Now the main ingredient in the winter glow is linseed but also has fenugreek, garlic and a few other things.

Would it really make any difference if i just changed to micronized linseed?

I've just bought some of this for my boy who has developed a seriously scurfy coat this winter.

A cupful? My 3kg won't last long at that rate.

I'd be interested in any replies to this xx

I feed a cupful of ML to 3 of mine and 1/2 cup to the two ponies. Their coats are amazing (when not caked in mud).
I now order mine in 20kg bags supplied by Charnwood Milling through my local feed store and it works out at £21 a bag (not questioning with them why its so cheap)

I used to feed winter glow/summer shine, and have also fed Natraglow depending on what was available - horses always looked fab on it. However, in an effort to streamline feeding on the way to going barefoot, I have stopped feeding the mix, and just feed straight linseed. It works out much cheaper to feed the ML from Charnwood...

If you want to stick with the seaweed/mint/garlic/linseed mix, then I used to buy the ingredients and make up batches - a bit more garlic and brewers yeast if lots of flies, a bit more linseed if skin a bit less shiny etc. Worked for me for years, and I used to make it up for a couple of horses and they always looked lovely and shiny :)
