Winter is a cruel mistress

Today I have hit the 'Totally had enough' wall. It's been gale force winds and torrential rain/hail for the best part of a fortnight up here. It feels like we are stuck in the depths of winter.
I'm so tired of having to get wrapped up in thermals and waterproofs just to go out and feed the lads. Even though I had a thermal top, fleece, warm coat, hat, gloves and waterproofs on this morning I was still absolutely freezing.
This is my sixth winter up here. I usually get a bit fed up of the weather-related challenges by early March but I've never felt as fed up about it as I do today. As I'm writing this, piles of ice (from the hail) are building up on the window. I desperately need a bit of sun - or just for the wind to stop! At times like this it's hard to imagine that spring will ever come.

Sunshine here but a bit shattered need a few weeks of this really!

Understand the getting dressed thing its a flipping tiresome thing

Yes! I have all the mod cons on a seriously lovely private yard. Only me, yo and one other livery with retired horse. I had a prophylactic mastectomy/reconstruction in Sept last year. Out of action 12 weeks. Pony has EMS so on soaked hay which caused so much pain lifting. Honestly felt like giving up. We are on clay and fields were pretty awful. Pony seemed depressed and fed up (like me). And then ten days ago went out for a jaunt, had an accident and almost lost my right index finger. So not riding or caring for my mare, AGAIN. Can’t write, type or drive currently🇬. This is the first time I’ve wondered if it’s actually all worth it. Didndiscover recently I’m anaemic which might explain the bone crushing fatigue. Spring is almost here, and I’m hoping for better days. I hope OP gets sorted xxxx
Oh goodness - that is a lot to contend with! I see it says new user- welcome to the forum!!

As OP i am happy to say we are very much sorted now. Hard standing little shelter stable block and redone the fencing that needed doing. I'll get fat at this rate with all the enjoyment of it. Sun has shined here all week too so whilst we have frosty nights its much much nicer all found and fingers crossed fields will continue to dry out.
