Winter must-haves

Sorry I know that is a hateful word, but it definitely feels like we're in for it given the current weather.

I need to invest in:
Some lightweight waterproof pants
Ski pants (way cheaper than proper riding trousers!)
Winter jacket
Gloves

I'm torn on the boot front; I have two decent pairs of jodhpur boots and some waterproof long boots. I may invest in some wellies too though!
 
Best investment so far has been an insulated hose, as all yard water comes from the one hose.

Also scarf, woolly hats, walking socks, Musto Chaps, waterproof and warm quarter sheet.

Most pleasingly I have just updated our outdoor lighting, and installed Patio Heater halogen lights in Jay's grooming parlour.:clap: :D:D:D
 
I'm not doing too badly, in my winter preparation.

I've already got: waterproof trousers (Lidl's are great - mine are on their second year :D), winter riding and yard gloves (Sealskinz all the way), long waterpoof coat, plenty of other jackets, jumpers, gilets and fleeces, lots of thermal/boot socks and plenty of hats, headbands, scarves & snoods. Oh, I found my headtorches in the utility room the other day too!

I 've washed and reproofed P's rugs on him and they all fit still :)

All I really need are need are new wellingtons, I'm tempted by Muckboot Tyne's as I could use them for riding too. I'm tempted to get some waterpoof and thermal riding trousers too - I never thought of ski pants! Thanks :)

I'm not looking forward to winter at all :(
 
Filtabac cream for mud fever (prevention and cure), thermal everything for me, a thermatex rug, welly socks, sealskinz gloves. Think I'll be getting some Musto chaps for this year too as my other waterproof chaps have disintegrated.

Thanks yeah I really am. I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to winter but blimey its made so much easier being indoors and having the indoor school as well. We have wash bays with heat lamps as well but sadly we still need to venture a few feet outside to empty the muck onto the muckheap but I guess you cant have it all, lol :)

Sealskinz gloves, had my first pair ever last winter and they were amazing! bought them from Go Outdoors in the sale, they were/are pale blue and advertised as cycling gloves, but they are go easy to wear and can do everything in them even though they look thick.
 
Some form of heater at the yard, I cannot survive without a source of warmth! A riding balaclava to go underneath the hat. A willing volunteer (victim) to clip my horses for me :D
