I'm with a friend so going 50/50 won't be too expensive and brekkie is included.

my parents stayed in the travel inn last year. i slept on the floor of the horse part of the little lorry i hired. the hail came in the gap between the ramp and the body and landed on my head all night and i was woken up at 5am by new people arriving next door - not fun! oh well, had to be up at 6 anyway for the morning arena walk.

well for a double room it's £125 for the two of us and we're splitting it 50/50. Not sure about bigger rooms.

Below are some links to hotels near to Solihull Riding Club. There are various other hotels & guest houses arouind there but they haven't got websites. The riding club is very near to the National Exhibition Centre & when there is a show on there many of the hotels are fully booked.

Hatty - thank you very much

Rambo - I might still see you there depending on this weekend

The main indoor arena, where your Prelim final will take place, is dressed to the nines!

Bearing in mind that I haven't been for a few years but that last time I went all the judges were sat at tables with big table cloths and there were plenty of floral arrangements around the arena. There were two huge pedestal ones that you had to pass through to enter!

Having said that, they now do an arena walk first thing in the morning to allow the horses to see what's what which you'd be mad to miss unless you have a real steady neddy, and even then I don't think I'd miss it because you just never know........!

yup - last year it was all dolled up in the indoor arena - white hanginging from everywhere, scary tablecloths and heaps of flowers! i only had to go in for the presentation because my class was in the outsoor school - cant imagine what my boy would have done if i'd asked to concentrate on a test in that indoor!
