There was frost on the car this morning, and although lovely and sunny there was also a serious bite to the wind.

With this in mind I have decided to take a stand.

Am I going to wrap up in that many layers that my husband doesn't even recognise me and I am unable to bend past 30 degrees?

No.

Damn it. I am going to hibernate.

Several weeks of eating cake, chocolate, steak pie and chips.
Wrap up in hole somewhere quiet in the house (with various chocolate bars in reserve. Just in case....).
Sleep through all cold yukky, grey, wet, depressing winter.
Miss Christmas and all the madness (save money/no risk of murdering the mother in law).
Wake up in spring nice and skinny ready to purchase size 8 bargains in the sales.

Can anyone please tell me if there is a flaw in my plan?

:eek::eek::confused:

The thought of approaching winter depresses me ... goodbye toasty bed, weekends in Edinburgh with OH, long sunny hacks and wearing tshirts. Hello 5.30am, pouring rain, dark, howling gales, muddy fields, mucking out, haynets, rugs, icy yard and snow.

Can I hibernate too?

Thats it! Im coming too! Mels is fluffy enough to create enough warth for us both, and Seri can squidge in a corner and bake her bun in peace! I refuse to get chill blaines again this year!!!x

I think i might join you all. Horse can come and live in my house too. Reckon he would like it. I will train him to open the door, pooh outside (in our horrid neighbours garden ;) ), come back in and close it again. There can be no conceivable flaw to the plan.

Flawless it is then.

-22 degrees???

I'm off to the pub for steak and chips and a couple of pints of guiness. Followed by 2 galaxy bars and lemon cake and a chocolate milkshake.

See you all in spring - perhaps covered in horse hair and with some serious bedhead issues - but as I'll be gorgeously svelte-like - who cares.....!:D

Nope, your plan sounds good to me. I have for years said I wish I could hibernate during winter! If only.......
I would like to wake up for a couple of weeks in December for xmas as I love all the festivities :D:D
God I hope its not as cold as they are predicting, last winter was bloody hard

Now don't get me wrong Ms Misfit - I love "proper" winter - the frost/snow stuff. Last year when it was really cold was brilliant. No mess, no damp - ok water was a bit of a pain, but I loved the chaos it caused and the kids thought it was fabulous!

It's the standard British winter I can't stand - the damp, grey, dreary, rainy, windy autumn come winter come spring malarky.
