Winter riding tight/leggings

I've got 2 pairs of Aubrion ones https://shiresequestrian.com/products/aubrion-porter-winter-riding-tights - am tight so I waited for the summer sales 🤭 They're fleecy lined and warm, but not too warm to trot in. The sizing is a bit weird though, as the med are a bit snug and the large are a bit baggy (I'm a 10-12)

I love these shires one’s. I’ve had some for years and they’re my favourites.

Horzehoods are so so warm and brilliant for when it’s really cold but mine tend to fall down and they’re a bit too thick to be able to get into my riding boots so I can’t ride in them.

Cameo’s are good, similar to the shires but I’m finding the shires fabric is lasting better.

I’m looking for the same thing and I’m considering these: https://www.countrydale.co.uk/products/thermodry-full-seat-riding-leggings-black

Has anyone tried them?
I have 2 pairs of countrydale (not this style) and wouldn’t buy again, especially not at that price I’d prefer to spend a little more on eqcouture or blackfort. Reasons I don’t like them are the material feels cheap, stains easily, hay sticks to them, the thermofleece are very warm but fall down constantly and are too slippy for riding, not at all water repellent as claimed. I was very surprised to be so disappointed as all the reviews were glowing.

Mine are a couple of years old so newer versions may have improved.

If you’re looking for warmth then Lemieux winter pull ons are definitely the warmest and don’t seem to fall down. Some of the winter riding tights don’t seem thick enough to make a difference in winter and although they may be described as fleece lined they’re still very thin and you need thermals underneath which sort of defeats the purpose.

I’ve got a couple of pairs of these and just bought another pair in the new plum colour. I find they’re good for this time of year, but not quite warm enough (for me) in really cold weather, unless I’m wearing my Equidry or riding skirt over the top. They’re comfortable to wear, and not too sticky; I’d actually prefer them slightly stickier, but you may not. The water repellency is only from a coating, though, and doesn’t last long.
If you want proper waterproof ones, I’d recommend Lemieux Drytex ones.

I’m jumping on this thread as I’m looking for winter tights or breeches too. I don’t mind which but I do want warm and fleecy as I get a really cold bum and thighs.

The Horzehoods ones are strong contenders - they’ve got some nice looking new designs at the moment and I already have a pair of their white ones for competitions so I know I find them comfortable.

I’ve just seen an advert for Equine Splendour though and it seems that they do some moderately thick and really thick ones, with and without grippy seats and they say they’re water resistant. They’re a bit cheaper than the Horzehoods ones too. Has anyone tried these ones?

Keep your eye on the Mayston website, their thermal breeches will be coming into stock very soon and if they are anything like their Studland breeches, they will be worth the wait.

I buy the balance riding tights from here and they've lasted brilliantly. They do thermals but not tried them.

Or for expensive ones at a discount, I love Cavallo stuff and buy from here

I have two pairs of Equine Splendour in the ‘thick’ range. They’re comfortable and warm as well as being shower proof. The navy ones seem to be made of slightly different material to the coloured ones and are less flexible but still ok. My original ones are green and l wear them a lot. There are a few videos on YouTube which could be worth looking at. Not sure what their stocking levels are like now but they seemed to sell out really quickly.

Thanks. They’ve got their thickest ones with a tenner off at the moment and they look nice so I think I’m going to give them a go. Black all the way for me though!

Got these last week and can highly recommend. Great quality, stylish, super warm, water resistant. Only thing I will say is they are maybe a touch long for me (short legs) but not the the point where they don’t fit.

I've got a few pairs of these and really like them, also was very impressed with their customer service when I had an issue with a pair.

I haven’t got the winter ones but I have both equine splendour and the HH competition tights and they are pretty similar. I’m tempted by the ES now 😁

I also have le mieux dry Tex and they are very warm and tested waterproof 😂 I got on sale for £55 but if wanting very warm they may be worth the full price (would recommend with full seat as the material is slippy)
