Has anyone come across a Turnout with Detachable neck and liners?

I want to prepare for next winter and figured now is the time to buy as they are likely to be on day. Rather than having loads of different rugs, i would like a few with different liners. The heavyweight i have for my boy is sooooo heavy and im sure it cant be comfortable lugging i around, especially when it is wet!

There are quite a few around. I think Shires and Swish (reasonable prices and quality) offer these options. I have and would not recommend a LeMiuex (which on the surface does offer what you want) - it has after about 4 months us broken/ripped in 3 places. Looks nice and is lightweight and warm, but not hard wearing (and was expensive).

I tend to use Horseware, Swish and Premier Equine and find the liners and hoods are interchangeable between makes.

I tend to go for a 50g outer as it is light enough to use as a rain sheet on those awkward spring and autumn days when it is raining a lot.

I have hoods in 50g, 100g and 200g weights but tend to only very rarely use them.

I also go for horseware - either rambo or rhino but mine are exracehorses living out on the top of a hill so I need something that will work even in storms.

I’ve got shires and swish, rugs liners and necks. They are all interchangeable which is great and good quality. Particularly impressed with the shires ones to be honest x

What size do you need? I have a brilliant set up for sale, Lansdown, unlined turnout, removable Thinsulate liner and two neck covers, one insulated one not. It's all I ever needed for my boy. 6'6" back with slightly reduced neck size. Hung onto them for years thinking if I buy a horse it'd have to fit these rugs, but the time has come! Superb rugs.

Interesting about the LeMieux rugs. I've had two and they fit well, are waterproof and have both had the stitching come undone in a big way!

I use Horseware now for everything.

I have Premier Equine ones - a 0g and a 50g turnout and then 100g and 200g liners. I've had them years and they last really well but since Wiggy's been here, I've never used the liners as he's an incredibly warm horse and even clipped he's not needed more than 50g. Two top layers is definitely necessary though as that's the layer that's most likely to break. You can get liners that have integral necks so you don't have to worry about changing neck covers as well but I think they're only available for certain models of rug so not as universal as standard necks.

I got the Horseware Rambo ballistic denier 50g rugs and a selection of liners for both mine and have been very pleased with them. They are very heavy though. I need separate no fills for warmer rainy days as the 50g would be far too warm. I'm sure someone was complaining about the sizing and them being tight across the chest. I find them quite generous but mine are both Arabs.

I have the Rambo too. I have had it a few years and its been very hardwearing so far. Its in daily use over winter and he's always dry underneath.

How do fit? I have a New Forest, he fits John Whitaker and HY Storm X rugs but have struggled with others!

I have a Horseware Amigo with detachable neck that I use a Derby House liner with. I had to add a loop of baler twine to each side of the liner as it didn't match the clip on points, but no biggie. Has worked well for the past two years, anyway. I use the same liner under the Weatherbeeta combo and his Ruggles combo and it doesn't move, despite no neck attachments.

I'd love to do the same for my Exmoor mare, but she's a petite 4'9" and it's REALLY hard to find liners in her size!!

Shires Highlander Plus. All day long.

I've had Swish & Horseware liner system turn out rugs in the past and Shires have been the only one to be geniunely waterproof in days and days of heavy rain.

They're nice and deep and good for wide horses. I've always had chunky boys and other rugs look like mini-skirts on them but the PE rugs (they've all shared the same rugs, I joke that the first thing I look for in a horse is fitting in 6'9" rugs and a 17 1/2" wide saddle) fir them well around the shoulders and actually cover their whole bodies, not just the top half. Some people say they come up big but I find them fairly true to size.

Ok so i have been looking at the Shires Highlander Plus with Liners.

Has anyone got advise on how these fit? I have a New Forest that is more an athletic build rather that stocky, so just wondering how these come up
