Winter,rugs and electric fencing

Seem a very bad combo! Shetland pony, youngster and tb all stay put but its anyone's guess where the 16.2 middle aged wooly mammoth will be!
Just off to fix today's fun had last night before the monsoon starts!
Any tips on keeping him in place gratefully recieved
 
If you get a shortish piece of the electric tape and tie it round the front of the rug horisontally so there is a piece on the outside (that would touch the fence you have up) and it runs round to touch his skin on his chest then you'll make a better connection and he'll soon learn that the fence has to be respected as much with a rug on as in the summer!
 
Im thinking this is a fab idea!
I think what he actually does is stick his head under the top strand and flip it over his wither but I can use this idea by maybe stitching a strip of tape down his neck cover or something....will investigate!

Two, He steps over the lower bit I think- the lower piece is usually intact.
yea maybe I should do more then, just a bit expensive right now but certainly one to bear in mind after Christmas.

Thats all very well, but if the cheeky person has a mammoth coat & its 32" tall, then its a bit of a pickle as to where/what to tie tape to :D - specially when they listen for the fence clicking & trundle through between pulses! :D

Tiny Fuzzy in muzzle apart from in night paddock which IS fully secure ...... :rolleyes::D
