Hi All

I really enjoying taking my horse out showing in the summer but now its winter time :( and there isn't so much of it where I am.

I have however found one but my question is can you still show your horse when they are clipped? She has a blanket clip as she just get so sweaty when exercising and I wonder if this will get us Marked down?

Thanks :)

What level of showing are you wanting to do? I've done local shows clipped and have never been marked down or had it commented on (and I have natives). My black mare won show champion last November and she was sporting a partially grown out interesting go faster stripe on one side where I had started clipping and she had strongly objected resulting in me leaving it for another day.

thanks for the reply. its Chiltern and Thames qualifier but I'm only really doing it for fun this time to see what its like at that level. She is very nicely clipped as it has only been done recently so its still really neat but she still has fluffy legs

Winter showing is normally done clipped out.
A lot of horses at HOYS would have been clipped out.
Clip out entirely and then restore colour by hot oiling them
