Mine are out 24/7.
This winter I have put in a large hardstanding area (Approx 10m x 20m)and they have a choice of sheds to go in. One of the shelters has a constant supply of roundbale haylage in it. That is also on the hardstanding area.
So far this has made a huge difference to the mud,,,I haven't got any. woohoo!!
I am still able to go and feed and do the horses in my trainers/short boots.
Bonus of having my own land is I can do what I want (As and when money allows)!

Indeed!! We are blessed, its sort of a standing joke that no-one has wellies, we are all in muckers at the worst. Only yard I have ever known like it, the fields are flat but all have drainining edges alongside so it seems to remain un-boggy.

However, the school is now too wet to ride in as its woody type stuff, and far to heavy and mulchy to ride on....

I have to say I could not be somewhere without good turnout, the boys would simply colic left right and centre being in for more than 24 hours.

Titch is happy to stay in forever because he is a woose! Fred however would end up going over the door!!!

Thank you all for your comments. I totally understand reasons for wanting to restrict and our fields can get boggy, but there is restricted and there is none

this is regardless of the weather. I had to leave my boy running round his stable and trying to climb the walls the other day...it was a lovely sunny afternoon. Makes me so sad
