I was just about to say!!!

Masta are ripping of fal's design then! because they've always been classic purple with green binding and the small 'name' disc on the side!

That's why your rug is so fantastic...its a fal

i put Fal, and i also use rambo & weethabeta, on whippety TB's, i have loads of masta ones (on special one year) & although v good rugs, are too wide for my lot, so i woul recommend those over the ones i use, esp if he has big shoulders.

I mainly have Masta rugs and I love them they fit my chunky chap really well and have lasted well and he has killed LOTS of rugs even within the first 24hours!

Horseware Rambo or Rhino all the way for me though I have been very impressed by the Premier Equine ones

Ive tried loads and love Rambo or Fal. They are more expensive but Im on my third winter now with my wug as they are so strong. You might think this isnt long but a cheaper rug I bought lasted 3 weeks when my horses friend got his teeth into it!

I would recommend Weatherbeeta as these are quite generous in size. My 14.2 cob has trouble fitting into some styles of rug because of his large chest!

I wouldn't choose a Mark Todd rug as these have been styled mainly to fit finer horses like throughbreds etc. Hope you find a suitable rug! Happy rug hunting!

I've got a Highland mare and used a Kingshead rug on her last winter but it was a bit snug over the shoulders. Horse next door wore Amigo medium weight all winter it didn't slip, rub, leak or get torn. I've tried it on my mare, and will be buying her these this year. The Kingshead was good as it didn't leak, rub etc either!

I love Horseware Amigo, and they're the cheapest!

My Amigo is the only one Rhyn hasn't detroyed within a few days, still going strong and about to start it's third winter. It's a nice shape for big shoulders and doesn't slip or leak either. They have detachable necks and if it can stand up to Rhyn it will stand up to most!

I don't like the fit of Mastas and Wetherbeeta on Rhyn, too tight on the shoulders and too long on him (although Spring is a lot bigger so I guess the length wouldn't be an issue for her).

I voted Weatherbeeta. Used to have mastas and they never lasted long and the fit jst wasn't right (really gappy around he shoulders), and they just didn't stay waterproof. Tried Mark Todd too and they rubbed (I would also comment that I have firends who have had them a few years and don't find them terribly waterproof, seem to rip more than other makes and the buckles etc keep breaking)

I have the new Landa Combo and love it. Everything rubs my horse, but this didn't. Fits really nicely

Wouldn't recomend Horseware rugs if your horse has a big chest as they just wouldn't fit IMO.

Rambo's all the way. We had an amigo HW for our mare, but has only lasted 2 years and have bought her a rambo for this winter (will use with a detachable neck cover). The lining of amigo has basically worn away, and the outer has become much less waterproof as well. The rambo is made with a much hardwearing more tightly woven outer and a better quality lining. My old horse had a rambo for about 8 years before we had to replace, and is still used as a spare.
They are definitely worth the money in my opinion.

would recommed masta rugs. have tried other makes but they seem better suited to finer horses than mine who looked at times as though he had been vacum packed into them. their detachable neck cover also fits well. the only rug he hasn't managed to kill!!!
