What wellies do you wear.....

have used recently:

hunters - look cool, feel cool, are expensive and last an astonishingly short time.

muck boots - ugly, quite pricey, the best boots I have ever worn and the only ones I haven't had dead cold feet with. Worn to death last winter (what do you mean, I can't wear them all the time?!) and will be going into this winter still waterproof and with lots of wear left.
 
I dont want to spend more than £80ish on a pair of wellies they will be used dog walking, horses (mucking out, bringing in, not really riding in) and stuff on the farm.


I have gone off Hunters big style, but I do love the look of the newish Balmorals.


My BnQ cheapies managed 3 months lol.
 
Have always had Muck Boots (the Tyne, riding style ones) for the extra warmth. I really do abuse them however, and they have only ever lasted me one winter per pair. So, last year I bought a cheaper equivalent (HKM brand) thinking that even if they too only last me the one winter I will have saved money. Well, in fact they not only lasted the winter, but are good and ready for the winter ahead as well!
 
Muck Derwents all the way... FAR better than the Tynes for general yard work with a good grip sole. Toasty feet in minus 15 last winter (standing still in deep snow and chatting for 30 mins)
 
Muck Boot Riding Wellies for me! I bought Toggi Canyon last year at £100 and they are all splitting at the toes with not that much hard wear to them.
 
I've used muckboot, Derwent and Avon over the last few years, only got rid when the treads wear out, boot itself was still fine, will be ordering a new pair of Derwents soon

I used to wear hunters but the winter before last my feet were so cold trudging through the snow I went out a bought a pair of Tuffa Country Riders (fleece lined) boots instead. Have never worn my hunters since!
 
Hunter Balmorals. They last me a year, maybe 18 months but I wear them a lot!

I am a groom so will wear them 7 - 6 in the winter for work then extra for dog walking / generally trying to get anywhere in the northern snow!

My feet are never cold in them and they are very durable / comfy :)

Tend to use steel toe capped, fleece lined rigger boots for general yard stuff and have my Toggi Suffolks for riding and the less messy things.

Have used Hunters for years (current pair still going after 15 years!!!!!) but they are starting to perish and the seams are splitting so are not exactly waterproof anymore :rolleyes:
 
Hunter Balmoral with the carbon fleece lining :D Love them to bits, can wear them all day and still be comfy (unlike other hunters and joules wellies). I also wear them in the summer and feet don't sweat so perfick :D

You can find them online at about £80 I think (but no lining) (outofthecity.co.uk is where I got mine)
 
Adsa cheap ones (£12) for yard use. Think the first pair I got last 3 months but I had been riding in them too. The new ones I've had for longer (never been worn on a horse).

I've also got Board Angel ones that look like Hunters at half the price but only keep them for "best" horsey things. You get them from M&M Online.
 
cheap and cheerful wellies from local agri store - they still seem to last a couple of years and I can have the 80 quid or so savings to spend on something else that won't get covering in mud and worse;).
 
I buy the cheapest wellies I can, every year I buy a cheap pair that will last me for most of the winter. I have tried all the brand names and the same thing happens everytime they split where the foot bends. Now it could be that I walk funny :eek:, but I would prefer to buy a cheap £3 pair off the sunday market than pay £££ for the branded ones.
 
I have le chameau, leather lined full zip. Expensive but worth everypenny. I never have cold feet, they fit like a glove, my socks never fall down. They have fantastic grip and last forever. I live in them all winter and they look great at Badminton and shooting :)
 
I was weeping with cold feet this past winter. I had been wearing the leather-lined Aigle boots, but they were too cold. I discovered the Seeland
neoprene-lined boots and have never looked back. They are about £80, come right up to the knee and have a gusset and adjustable toggle at the back of the leg (great for carrying haynets, because they never get caught on the toggle). They have a very thick sole with great traction, and are very attractive. I don't even have to wear thick socks to keep my feet toasty and warm. I can't recommend them highly enough.
 
Le Chameau neoprene lined - keep feet warm and dry. Only need 1 pair of sock even in the worst snow. I use them for stable/yard/walking always ride in riding boots.

Have had them 2 yrs and they still look new.
