, but lovely and warm and toastie at night
anyone else gone to winter routine????

solo (tb) will be coming in at the weekend. red (hackney x) will be coming in in a couple of weeks. solo had a 300g combo on last night and was cold at 7 this morning...... where as red had a 200g combo on and was snug!
i had to wear a coat this morning and i dont normally!
i love having them in, and tucking them up at night.... looking forwards to solo & red coming in as i find i spend more time with them!

Yes started last Sunday when we moved yards, 5.30 alarm, muck both out before work and put the beds up then ride after work, it was really chilly this morning, but having the indoor school and turnout everyday is going to make this year 100% better.

Mine will be out 24/7 so no mucking out but had to put his rug on last night though! He was not impressed at being chilly when I got to him last night!!!

i took the geldings off this a.m. though (he thought he was coming in for a feed when i shouted him, not pleased when i didnt let him through the gate

Yikes, after my schooling session today I did notice my TB x is definately now in "winter mode" which means he's now turned into a spooky / high as a kite monster!

He's hates the cold... but then I guess freezing cold Scotland is a bit different from his previous time in Portugal! God, he must hate me!

I caved in and bought him a Rambo Duo on Sunday. I tried so hard not to!

I have no stables this winter (until i hurry up and sort out planning permission anyway) so will start rugging up this weekend although will probably have to trace clip before long. They've both been changing their coats for weeks now!

I guess I'm now in a 'winter' living out regime!

I love to 'tuck them up' at night, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage!

leaving it as long as possible. Not rugging him up yet and won't be in until mid - late oct depending on weather and ground conditions

My girl was in a m/w last night as it was so cold, she is in it tonight too.

She has been having hay for a while now as the grass is so bad and she is one one feed at night. It was freezing this morning too

Mine is still out without a rug - however tonight I had to hand over £340 to pay for my haylage for the winter

But at least I won't have to worry about paying it again til next year.
