Wireless headset for lessons - recommendations please.

Can anyone please recommend a wireless set up to help me communicate, two-way, with my coach?

Assuming that, some time in the not too dim and distant future, I can get back to training I'd like to find a way to enable me to hear, and speak to, my coach. I'm deaf as a post as soon as 1) it gets windy or 2) there is much in the way of background noise!

I've rootled around on Amazon but can't really get a sense of what system might be better so thought I'd come to the very people most likely to be using some means to improve communication whilst wearing a helmet etc. At this stage I quite literally don't know what I don't know so any input or advice would be gratefully received.
 
Could a simple Bluetooth phone set help? Then just call each other. Dunno how close your own phone would have to be to you though.
 
I bought some walkie talkies off amazon with ear pieces. No idea how good they are yet as haven't had a chance to test them!

We've worked with our phones in the past but it's not a long term solution, unfortunately, since I need to keep my phone available for calls.

Do please report back on the walkie-talkies FFAQ, when you've had a chance to use them!
 
I am also partially deaf and have experimented with many things over the years. I came to the conclusion that the best thing was to purchase a proper system. I have the WHIS system. Never fails me, signal as clear as a bell and no faffing. Well worth the cost

Ah ha! Thank you. Everyone has had valuable input but I think this is the sort of thing I had in mind. How far apart can you be and still speak to each other? A driven dressage arena is 40m x 80m or 100m. Would it work over that distance do you think?
 
last year i brought one of these sets.. i find that when i am trying to concentrate on riding i lose the ability to hear what my instructor is saying / shouting at me!! had been thinking about buying something to help but knew i wanted 2 way and most sets were way out of my price range

am very pleased with it sound quality is good and we have volume on low.. one charge lasts for a few lessons.

One of my instructors uses one but it's not two way. She deliberately didn't go for the two way as she said it's very off-putting hearing someone huffing and puffing all the time. I found it very good. It was much easier to hear her and because she wasn't shouting, she could talk more fluently rather than just a few words hear and there. The only problem was I kept talking back to her forgetting she couldn't hear me - probably a plus for her!

It works a long way. My instructor has in the past walked out the arena to her car the other side of a barn and I can still hear her
